As the oil level in the engine changes, the level of the oil in the glass also changes, and the operator can easily read the oil level by looking at the position of the oil on the scale. The pressure indicator, on the other hand, is typically located near the top of the dipstick or rod and measures the pressure of the oil as it is pumped through the engine or machinery.
